The Volkswagen Golf Gets Upgraded

At Byers Volkswagen, we offer some capable vehicles that won't let you down. That doesn't mean that the Volkswagen brand is resting on its laurels though. Its engineers are always working on upgrades and improvements, and one car that will soon receive some updates is the iconic Volkswagen Golf.

There are many types of Volkswagen Golf models and the entire family of vehicles will be refreshed for the 2018 model year. The popular hatchback will receive some subtle exterior updates, like LED daytime running lights, redesigned bumpers, and new tail lamps. Some new wheel options and paint choices will also be offered.

Some technology upgrades are also in the works. Look for a larger touchscreen and rain-sensing wipers in the 2018 Volkswagen Golf S. The Volkswagen Golf SE will come equipped with an even larger eight-inch display and safety technology like Automated Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Recognition. Meanwhile, the updated Volkswagen Golf SEL will offer technology like Adaptive Cruise Control.

The 2018 Volkswagen Golf GTI will receive some power upgrades, including a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that can put out 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The Performance Package that was previously optional is now standard. You'll also find updated technology, like a bigger infotainment screen.  Finally, the new Volkswagen Golf R will come equipped with new standard features, including LED exterior lighting, an eight-inch touchscreen, and the impressive Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. We can't wait to see these new models in action!
