Volkswagen Passat Lineup

A midsize 5-seater sedan, the Volkswagen Passat features plenty of room for front and rear occupants, and more cargo space than most of the competitors in its class. Quick acceleration and solid safety features round out the vehicle, and Volkswagen has made sure there’s a perfect model for all needs, tastes, and budget.

The Passat S is the entry-level trim, which is standard with front-wheel drive and a turbo-four engine that generates 174 horsepower and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. A rearview camera, six-speaker audio system, 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, USB port, the MIB infotainment system, and Intelligent Crash Response are all included. Additionally, a Driver Assistance package is available, with forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

For a bit more, you can move up to the Passat R-Line. To the base features of the Passat S, the R-Line adds leatherette upholstery and heated front seats, the Driver Assistance package features, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The infotainment system is also upgraded with a 6.3-inch screen, satellite radio and Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink smartphone integration systems.

The Passat SE increases the refinement by adding push-button start, keyless entry, and a sunroof to the R-Line trim. There is also a Passat SE with Technology that adds heated rear seats, front and rear parking sensors, an eight-speaker audio system, remote start, daytime running lights, and a hands-free power trunk lid.

The Passat GT is similar to the SE model, but adds a jolt of power for those who want more of a sporty performance from the Volkswagen Passat. 280 horsepower comes from the V6 engine, which is paired to a six-speed dual-clutch manual transmission. The GT also comes standard with 19-inch wheels.

Finally, the Passat SEL Premium brings together everything that Volkswagen has to offer, and upgrades everything possible from the lower trims. Standard in the Passat SEL Premium, you’ll find leather upholstery, a premium Fender audio system, and upgraded infotainment system with navigation and an extra USB port. Additional safety features that come with this model include lane departure warning and park assist. If you like these features, but are intrigued by the GT’s V6 power punch, you’re in luck! You can have the SEL features with the GT’s V6 engine and dual-clutch transmission in the aptly named Passat V6 SEL Premium.
