If you're not familiar with how Volkswagen does things, you're in for a treat whether you choose the new VW Jetta or Passat. Where other brands start with a stripped-down base model, each of these Volkswagen sedans come well equipped with standard features including heated power side mirrors, LED headlights, and LED daytime running lights for added style and safety. The new VW Passat, however, does come standard with a few additional features like heated windshield nozzles and keyless access with push-button start. German-Engineered Performance

The VW Jetta may be considered a small car, but when you get behind the wheel, you'll discover a little car that goes big on performance. Its new turbocharged engine makes a healthy 158 horsepower and 184 lb/ft of torque, which is noticeably more than competing models in this segment. What's even more impressive than the responsive throttle in the new VW Jetta is its fuel economy. This efficient little car is good for up to 43 MPG on the highway and up to 29 in the city.

The new Volkswagen Passat is a bit heavier, and it does start out with a little more power from its larger turbocharged engine: 174 horsepower and 206 lb/ft of torque. While the throttle response is about the same as what you'll find in the Jetta, you may find that the Passat offers a bit more comfort over bumpy roads and around the turns. That's because it's equipped standard with independent multi-link rear suspension while the new Jetta starts out with a torsion beam rear suspension.
